FCC considers new rules to stop the scammers from hijacking the cell phone.

Image
SIM swapping and port-out fraud can be fatal to your personal information. The FCC is looking for new rules to amend for the tightening security around your data and phones in order to prevent the sim swapping and port out frauds in which fraudsters can access the personal information and phone number for nefarious purposes. The agency revealed that it has received numerous complaints from the consumers and has suffered financial harm and significant distress due to this. Sim swapping is when someone hijacks your phone number to interfere with the two-factor authentication code(which you use to verify login access or account access). The anonymous access the phones and sends the data to the other device without the user's consent and permissions and they even won't know that their data are exposed. Port-out fraud occurs when the fraudsters open an account with different cell phone carriers than the victims and has the victim's phone number transferred to the new account wi...

Apple Inc. fixes zero-day.

Image
Apple fixed these zero-days by releasing security updates as soon it got noticed. It was a vulnerability that used to bypass macOS security defenses. What is Zero-day? A zero-day is a software vulnerability that can creat a complicated problem before anyone notices. In fact it leaves no opportunity for detection. Jamf during research into XCSSET malware discovered it in 2020. Further, researchers at Jamf found something related to it taking screenshots secretly on mac. In this, the hackers could get around the privacy feature known as Transmission, Consent, and Control. The TCC used to create a flag before anyone does anything but here the case was different. This malware prevents it do something like that preventing creating a popup and granting permission on its own whenever wanted. We can say as if it's a hacker's piggy bank. The Jamf reported that vulnerability has been found taking screenshots only for now. They also made noticed that same could be done with the user...

The probe began the long journey back toward Earth on May 10, 2021.   (Image credit: NASA/Goddard/University of Arizona) NASA's first asteroid sampling mission is trailing its space-rock bounty home. The OSIRIS-REx probs  began heading for earth on 10th May 2021 which is 2.3 Billion Kms away from the Earth. This will land in the Utah desert grabbing asteroid samples.  The $800 million OSIRIS-REx mission was launched in September 2016 and arrived at the 1650 foot wide Bennu in December 2018. It gathered a huge amount of asteroid dirt and gravel. The members of the team have planned to estimate the mass by spinning maneuver with the spacecraft shortly after the collection of samples. But the maneuver would have caused more Bennu bits to escape; so OSIRIS-REx stored the stuff in its return capsule without doing the spin move. Don't ...
