The FCC is looking for new rules to amend for the tightening security around your data and phones in order to prevent the sim swapping and port out frauds in which fraudsters can access the personal information and phone number for nefarious purposes. The agency revealed that it has received numerous complaints from the consumers and has suffered financial harm and significant distress due to this. Sim swapping is when someone hijacks your phone number to interfere with the two-factor authentication code(which you use to verify login access or account access).
